I've seen movies and musicals about golf and they just never tapped in to the addiction. Sweetspot started with a monologue about how I got hooked on golf: "That night I had my first full blown fantasy. Never again would I go to sleep dreaming of blondes, or brunettes, or redheads. I dreamt instead of a 260 yard drive off an elevated tee. I dreamt of a flush five iron that went way up in the air and landed softly on a dew covered green. I dreamt of 20 foot putts popping into a hole to the roar of the crowd that had taken up permanent residence in my head. I lay there fully aroused!!!"

You get such a strong physical rush from the sensation of a well struck shot that it's almost sexual, orgasmic. That's why a golfer holds the pose after a good shot-- to hold on to that wonderful physical rush. After you hit that first wonderful, flush golf shot you spend the rest of your life, like an addict, chasing after that sensation.
